Soaring Undrentide by shoughad Soaring Undrentide by shoughad
Finally finished and there she goes .... :boogie:
A bit futuristic - I know ... but

If you like, you can follow the creation process through my journals:

Rising Undrentide ... just aim for the skies!
Rising Undrentide ... just aim for the skies! (II)

Do you remember the game "Shadows of Undrentide"?

Undrentide was a Netherese flying city that floated in the south east of their territory, near the western border of what was then the Eastern Forest.
It was one of the cities that crashed to the earth when Karsus cast the spell that momentarily made him the god of magic. It was buried under the sands of Anauroch and forgotten, until the medusa sorceress Heurodis discovered a powerful artifact that allowed her to reawaken the mythallar that powered the city, gaining its powers to herself.
The city was rising to the skies again at her command when Drogan's student (the game's protagonist), who had followed her after she killed her/his master, confronted Heurodis and destroyed her along with the mythallar, fleeing to the Plane of Shadow as the city fell back to the earth a second time.

Oooh , thank you so much, Tari

When I made this one, I was somehow ... Undrentide-obsessed.
This NWN Add-On isn't as impressive as the OC oder the "Hordes od the Underdark" - or NWN2, but I loved it for a certain little, charming reason named Torias and a huge, deadly reason named Anauroch. :)

Hmmm ... it almost became obsessive because the point with Bryce 3D is: once you're ready and satisfied with the wire frame placement you start and try another sky or another type of water or another surface ...
 It just depends on your last drink :coffeemachine::beer::milk:

Pretty cool looking. If I had to make one criticism, which I try to do when making comments, I would say that the buildings on the enclave too look futuristic. Netheril was an advanced society, yes, but it was 'magically advanced', not 'technologically advanced'. All in all, looks good, though.

Uhm ... :blushes: Karsus himself !????
(Shouldn't you hang around somewhere in the middle of the Anauroch - petrified????)
Anyway - you are right. You've got to blame me for my lazyness:slap:
Creating a completely new magic-medieval looking city in Bryce would have taken me years.:pc:
So I choose freedom of artisitic impression an decided to use a finished futuristic looking model, hoping that nowadays no one will remember Netheril architecture. Ooops... :)

Now that is how it should look :D

I wonder how it looked after crashing twice? Kind of like when you write off a crashed car...

I'm glad I finished this one. And that it turned out this way: a mix out of magic and sob stuff. ;)
During the last two weeks "Undrentide" became a quite dangerous obsession, it claimed a big share of my free evenings.
That's why I decided not to work further on any crash-version. Surely someone else can do ...

By the way - as it is really hot today (37°C): there are some winter-versions of this shot in my scrapbook [link] :snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::D Enjoy!

It is barely 25 degrees here for the whole summer... it sucks really. I hope you are well. :)
